Our storyboard of 'The Killers'
The killers remake
This is our remake of the killers,we couldn't do as well because there was only two of us in the group. We couldn't really do the shots properly because we needed an extra person for the shots which we didn't have. Therefore our remake didn't come out there way we would have expected it to come out. However we have learnt from our mistakes, this was our first practise. we have learnt that we should always follow our plan and when we are filming we should always keep editing in our head. The problem was that we didn't have many shots, so we couldn't really follow our plan as it should have been. Therefore everything turned out all muddled up. However we have learnt some new things such as using final cut pro. Therefore next time we will keep all these things in mind and make it better.

Health and safety
Tahrima Akhtar -
In the health and safety tutorial, we were introduced to the filming equipment they included: the JVC cameras, Tripods, Camera batteries and memory cards. During the tutorial we were shown how to insert the battery and memory card. We also were taught how to set up the tripods and mount the cameras onto the tripod safely ensuring that its locked properly and safe for us to use. we were also taught how to use the camera and what the buttons are used for.
Selina Khatun -
Our lesson on health and safety was really good. It helped us understand how to use the equipment properly as well as safely. we learned the ways in which we should insert the battery into the camera and also the memory card, it is important to get that right.
We also learnt how to set up the tripod safely. Making sure we set it up correct is vital because we don't want to damage anything.
It was a helpful lesson in learning about all the different features the Cameres have and what all the buttons could do, so now we can use our equipment to its full extent, safely and properly.
Marzana Ahmed -
In the health and safety tutorial we learnt about the costs of the equipment, so it helped us understand how much we have to take care of it. We learnt how to put the batteries in and out, how to put the memory card in and out, we learnt how to set up a tripod and we learnt how to handle the video camera, e.g. Setting it up, Recording, Laying it on the tripod, how to pan and track.
It was really helpful because we learnt about all the different features the camera has which we didn't know before therefore it can help us make the most of the Video camera for our benefits.

Thriller opening conventions
There are many things that are employed in a thriller to give it such a dramatic and excellent start for example we often see the name of the company’s such as distributors and Productions Company’s name. Here is one production company that we tend to see on films that are very successful.
The cast that will be featured in the movie will also be seen at the beginning of movies as well as the credits all in a list.
Even the name of the title could be used by many production companies at the beginning of a film to illustrate horror for example if your title said "BEWARE" or something along the lines of horror and the font was dripping in red emphasizing blood then this would create a strong image intact a very vivid impression in the audience mind that they are in for a real horror movie.
This is a poster of the horror film 'Piranha 3d' as you can see the title of the film is in bright red . Making it evident to the viewers that it IS a horror film, as the title links in with blood relating to the genre of the film

Conventions of film openings: Example The Unborn
The opening scene of The unborn
I have chosen this film opening because I really enjoyed watching it. Also The unborn is a supernatural horror thriller.Which relates to what genre we are going to be doing.

First filming practice
This is a wide shot, however the lighting in this shot was really bad |
A close up of Selina's face, we found that the lighting could have been more clearer..it has come out quite dark. |
