A little goodbye message from group 40..


It was very fun and a whole new experience but I must admit I'm glad it's over so now its just the editing process to go :D -(Selina Khatun)

GROUP 40.

On set..

transforming our Killer

Because we are using intertextuality from film 'The Step-father'...making sure our transformation of our killer had to go really well, it was really important..we wanted to make a big impact, so the audience can tell that she HAS changed!

OCD killer

We thought that one of the characteristics of our Killer is that she is OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/Disease)


So when setting out our props we tried to imitate what and person with OCD would do and make it super neat!

Second day of filming

Second day of filing, was very good - especially since the first day didn't go so well..
We were super excited!
We followed our story board exactly and everything went to plan.

Lucky enough..we did plan ahead...and these are some pictures of our back-up location. They actually look very similar to the ones we were going to originally do it in..

Our first day of filming was pretty hectic..and nothing was going to plan..

 - We had really bad luck today, the traffic was really bad and we were on the bus for more than an hour when it should of been an 1/2 hour journey and tpo top it off the bus had to terminate...and we were no where near our Location. . .
Ohhh nooo  :'(

FINALLY we got to our location and Tadaaaa....

It was closed :(
(And it started to rain)...It really was our bad luck day..


I guess it is our fault, we never thought out of the 'What could go wrong' list that our location would fail us, we were really disappointed.


Although it was closed we still filmed a scene of our killer walking towards the gate and hopefully in the editing process, we will match the clips so it follows through with our bathroom scene..

''The Women''

When we were first brainstorming our film we first though we would have a male killer as that is what is most common..but we thought it would be interesting to have a female killer as we don't really see much of that in films these days.

We wanted our idea to be unique and different.

I actually watched a documentary of Myra Hindley who is still known as Britain's most notorious female killer and weirdly enough it gave me the idea that we should use a female instead of a male as most people wouldn't expect it and some forget what females are actually capable of.

So that is why we decided to call our film 'The woman' as it doesn't give much away and is fairly simple and easy to remember.

'The stepfather' Inspiration

The first three minutes of 'The stepfather' really inspired us for the basis of our whole idea..
I love the way he transforms himself in the beginning from looking so rough to a completely different person. In the opening of our own film this is the kind of thing we would like to achieve..So we want to make sure that the transformation in our character is very obvious.

THE PITCH.

This is our pitch for our thriller, it includes the storyboard, pictures of our location, out target audience, which specific sub-genre and a brief outline. Above are screen grabs from our prezi.

The treatment

OUR film is going to be about a female killer.

This female killer is very particular about who she kills.

She kills rich teenage girls. Its going to be a psychological thriller. The reason she goes after these girls and kills them is because of her own past and the trauma that she went through in High school with the same type of girls.

She's very psychotic and thinks she is doing right when she kills,She finds pleasure and feels happy when she is killing, she feels at peace that at last she gets to have her revenge.  

The film ends with her getting caught because she is finally outsmarted by one of her victims, Who is a journalist investigating all these mysterious killings.
